I grew up eating Momma's Applesauce as a "side" with dinner. A big bowl of Momma's applesauce was placed on the table, and we each put a healthy portion on our plate. It was always served cold. In fact, the first label on our jar says "best if served cold"...little did we know all of the other great ideas. The Farmers' Markets have been a wonderful source of ideas from our customers and we continue to compile a list of unique recipes that we never could have imagined. Please e-mail us your ideas, and we will pass them along.

Applesauce Popsicles
1. Fill an ice cube tray with Momma’s Old-Fashioned Applesauce.
2. Insert a Popsicle stick or half a straw in the center of each Popsicle.
3. Freeze the entire tray.
A fun, healthy snack on a hot day. Kids love it!

Ice Cream Topping
1. Put vanilla ice cream in a bowl.
2. Warm Momma’s Old-Fashioned Applesauce in microwave for approximately 25-30 seconds.
3. Pour applesauce on top of vanilla ice cream.
You’ve never had vanilla ice cream like this!

Peanut Butter and Applesauce Sandwich
Just like it sounds. Replace the jelly with Momma's Old-Fashioned Applesauce. It is different and it tastes great.

Toasted Cheese and applesauce
Prepare that favorite toasted/grilled cheese and spread Momma's Applesauce on top. Or, cut the toasted cheese sandwich into "dipping strips" and dip them in a bowl of Momma's Applesauce.

Pork Loin / Pork Chops
Momma's Old-Fashioned Applesauce is a great marinade for pork. Pour a pint of Momma's Original Recipe Applesauce over a pork loin or pork chops, allow it to marinade for 30-60 minutes, and then bake it normally.
Another quick dinner idea is to place a pork loin on the grill, pour Momma's Original Recipe Applesauce on top and grill normally. Slice the grilled pork loin and serve with the grilled applesauce on top.

Marveleen's Marvelous Meatloaf
Ingredients:
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 egg
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup Momma's Old-Fashioned Applesauce - Original Recipe
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
3 tablespoons ketchup
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a loaf pan or place parchment paper on baking rack (so the meatloaf does not fall through).
In large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
Place the meatloaf mixture in loaf pan or form into a loaf and place on parchment paper/baking rack.
Bake for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until done. We cook it closer to the 2 hours when using a loaf stone.
Slice and enjoy. Serves 5 - 8.
This meatloaf is easy to make, is very moist and has great flavor.

Freddie's Fruity Fly Paper
Ingredients: Momma’s Old Fashioned Original Flavor OR No Sugar Added Applesauce
Either use your dehydrator's provided drying pans or line your dehydrator’s racks with parchment paper and pour the applesauce onto the sheets.
Smooth the applesauce to a fairly even thickness (¼ inch or less) with a spoon or spatula.
Following the dehydrator’s manufacturer’s instructions for drying fruit leather, dry for about 5-7 hours or until the fruit leather is dry but still pliable. Less drying is required for No-Sugar Added then for Original Flavor.
If there are still sticky/damp spots on the fruit leather, continue to dry  until they disappear.
Remove the parchment paper with the fruit leather on it from the dehydrator and gently peel the fruit leather from the parchment paper.
Cut into shapes and sizes as desired.
To store, place the fruit leather in an airtight and moisture proof container with parchment paper between the pieces.
Store it in your refrigerator.
